Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald has shut down the swirling fan theories regarding quarterback Geno Smith’s future.
In a direct interview with FOX-13’s Aaron Levine, Macdonald made his stance unmistakably clear: “He’s our quarterback.” When pressed further on whether Smith would remain the starter next season, Macdonald responded with an emphatic, “Heck yeah.”
Despite outside speculation, there’s been no wavering support for Smith from within the organization. Coaches and players alike have backed him, with Pro Bowl teammates recently applauding his resilience and toughness.
Macdonald didn’t just stop there he doubled down, boldly stating, “We can win a championship with Geno Smith.”
While fan debates continue and rumors swirl including some suggesting Smith could be traded to the Raiders to reunite with Pete Carroll, Macdonald’s message leaves little room for doubt.
The Seahawks now face an interesting offseason decision: renegotiating Smith’s contract to free up cap space while reaffirming their confidence in him as the leader of their offense.
