JUST IN: Jeremiah Alexander Gets Brutally Honest Behind the True Reason to Depart Alabama for Clemson…

Linebacker Jeremiah Alexander has gone through the Clemson recruitment process twice, and now that he’s officially a Tiger, he believes he’s where he belongs.

Clemson has been more involved in the transfer portal this offseason than in previous years, although their activity remains relatively limited. Head coach Dabo Swinney has brought in key transfers, particularly on defense, hoping to strengthen the team.

Among these additions is Alexander, who transferred from Alabama. This week, he spoke about his decision to join Clemson, crediting faith for guiding his path.

“First off, I just want to thank God,” Alexander said. “Being recruited by Clemson the first time was an incredible experience, and having the chance to go through it again—it’s funny how things work out. God doesn’t make mistakes, and I’m grateful to be back home.”

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound linebacker from Alabaster, Alabama, was initially recruited by Clemson as part of the 2022 class. At that time, he was a highly regarded 5-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 1 edge rusher. However, after committing to Alabama, he struggled to meet expectations in Tuscaloosa.

Over three seasons with the Crimson Tide, Alexander played in 28 games, primarily contributing on special teams. He recorded 11 tackles during his tenure at Alabama.

This offseason, he became one of three transfers Clemson added to the roster. Despite his limited college production, 247Sports still rated him as a 4-star transfer, acknowledging his high potential.

Clemson has brought in two defensive transfers for the 2025 cycle, with Alexander being one and the other being former Purdue defensive end Will Heldt, also a 4-star transfer. Heldt had an impressive 2024 season, tallying 56 tackles and 5.0 sacks in 12 games.

Another interesting connection is that Alexander was high school teammates with current Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods. In 2024, Woods recorded 28 tackles, including nine for loss, along with 3.0 sacks.

Now roommates at Clemson, Alexander and Woods will work together to strengthen the Tigers’ defense in 2025. With Alexander finally in a place he calls “home,” he has the chance to reach his full potential and make a meaningful impact on the team.
