This past weekend, he took part in Pinstripe Pride 2025, a major fan event held at the American Dream mall, where fans could meet players, get autographs, and immerse themselves in Yankees memorabilia. While the Yankees don’t host an official FanFest, this event has become a fan favorite in recent years, bringing together current stars and legends alike.
Even Cashman joined in, signing autographs on photos, baseballs, and likely some arbitration agreements. Of course, this puts him in the line of fire for fan criticism, though anyone willing to pay to meet him is probably going to keep things civil.
During the event, one fan posed the inevitable question about the Yankees’ infield vacancy—likely a question Cashman fielded all day. Cashman explained the team is open to using internal options for the position but is primarily “waiting for some prices to drop,” suggesting the Yankees are eyeing the trade market for potential upgrades.
This could be referring to available players and their fluctuating costs. Notably, both Nolan Arenado and Luis Arraez are still up for grabs. While the Cardinals are reportedly eager to trade Arenado, the timing hasn’t yet aligned with the Yankees’ needs. Similarly, the Padres have been discussing possible trades involving Dylan Cease and Michael King, with Arraez potentially offering a financial boost but likely yielding a smaller return.
Cashman’s comments indicate that the Yankees are indeed looking to make moves in the coming weeks. Fans are hoping, however, that the team won’t find themselves too reliant on internal options to fill the gap.
