“I was sitting in front of the TV, completely dazed,” Holmes recalled. “My wife walked in and asked how I was holding up. I just looked at her, and she started apologizing—almost like she could feel the weight I was carrying. Then she left the room, giving me space to process everything. Her quiet message was clear: ‘Take the time you need, but when you’re ready, it’s time to move forward.’ That moment hit me hard.”
Although the loss lingered, Holmes credited his wife’s support for helping him regain perspective and shift his focus back to building the team’s future.

Holmes emphasized that football is a humbling sport, where both triumphs and setbacks are part of the journey.
“It was a tough moment, no doubt,” Holmes admitted. “But those moments make us stronger. We’ll come back better and more prepared.”
