JUST IN: Indiana Fever Pays Tribute to Former All-Star, Celebrating an Iconic Career as She Announces Heartfelt Retirement.

Over the last two decades, the Indiana Fever have encountered many players, but none quite like Caitlin Clark, who currently stands as one of the biggest names in professional sports. The team’s goal is to keep Clark in Indiana for the long haul. However, the Fever’s current success wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of past players, including three-time All-Star guard Danielle Robinson. Robinson, who played for the Fever during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, announced her retirement on Wednesday after a distinguished 14-season career in the WNBA.

While Robinson’s time with the Fever was brief, she played an instrumental role in shaping a new chapter for the team. Having left two years before Clark’s arrival in 2024, her legacy still resonates. To honor her, the Fever shared a heartfelt tribute following her retirement announcement, saying, “Congratulations on a great career, Danielle Robinson. Wishing you all the best in retirement.”

Robinson was selected as the No. 6 overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Silver Stars. Over her illustrious career, she earned three All-Defensive selections, made the All-WNBA team in 2014, and led the league in assists in 2013. Standing 5-foot-9, Robinson ended her playing days with averages of 8.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.1 steals in 55 games with the Fever.
