Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and linebacker Jihaad Campbell announced on Thursday their decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
Milroe, a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide with one year of eligibility remaining, concluded his season on Tuesday in a 19-13 loss to Michigan during the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Expressing gratitude on social media, Milroe wrote, “To my teammates, my brothers, thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve shared.
The bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime. To Coach [Nick] Saban, thank you for believing in me and instilling the standard of excellence in me. To Coach [Kalen] DeBoer, thank you for challenging me and helping me grow into the player and leader I am today.”
During the 2024 season, Milroe completed 64.3% of his passes for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions across 13 games. He also showcased his dual-threat abilities with 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns.
In 2023, his first year as a starter, he finished sixth in Heisman Trophy voting, recording 2,834 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and 531 rushing yards with 12 scores. Milroe also holds an undergraduate degree and previously served as a backup to Bryce Young, the 2023 NFL Draft’s No. 1 overall pick.
Campbell, a three-year player for Alabama, led the team in tackles (117), tackles for loss (11.5), and sacks (five) over 13 games in 2024.
He also contributed one interception, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery, earning recognition as a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker.
Reflecting on his journey, Campbell shared on social media, “These last three years in Tuscaloosa have molded me into a better player and a better man. This experience has been special and unforgettable. I feel like I am ready now to take the next step in my career.”
