Now, they’re gearing up for an epic NFC North showdown on Sunday Night Football in Motown, facing the Minnesota Vikings with the division title on the line.
On Wednesday, standout cornerback Terrion Arnold added fuel to the fire with a bold, six-word declaration aimed squarely at the Vikings’ star-studded receiving corps. His message, likely to serve as motivation for Minnesota’s Jordan Addison, Justin Jefferson, and the rest of their receivers, was clear:
“We’re a bad matchup for Minnesota,” Arnold proclaimed. “They got receivers, but we got cover guys.”
The Lions secured a narrow victory in their first meeting with the Vikings on October 20, outpassing Minnesota 247 yards to 244 and edging them in the run game with 144 rushing yards to the Vikings’ 139. Heading into this rematch, Detroit boasts the league’s second-best passing offense, averaging 266.1 yards per game, while Minnesota ranks fifth with 243.8 yards per game.
Despite recent defensive injuries, the Lions have gritted out tough wins against the 49ers and Bears, following a high-scoring 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills on December 15.
