JUST IN: Walker Buehler Stuns Dodgers Nation with Heartfelt Christmas Message After Shocking Decision to Join the Red Sox.

Walker Buehler may not be wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers uniform in 2025, but his legacy in L.A. will remain intact.

After finalizing a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox this week, Buehler will be pitching for a team outside the Dodgers for the first time in his professional career. Drafted by the Dodgers in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft, Buehler made his debut in 2017, earning two All-Star selections and winning two World Series titles during his time with the team.

One of his most memorable performances came this past season when he played the role of hero in the World Series against the New York Yankees. Buehler delivered five shutout innings in Game 3 and closed out Game 5 with the final three outs, securing the World Series championship for L.A.

Though Buehler won’t be returning to the Dodgers in 2025, his place in the team’s history is cemented forever. Given his recent heroics, his No. 21 jersey remained a popular holiday gift this season, especially since he was still a free agent just days ago.

Noticing the outpouring of love from fans sharing photos of their Buehler jerseys as Christmas gifts, the 30-year-old pitcher took to social media to show his appreciation. On his X account, Buehler shared a heartfelt message to Dodgers fans: “The #21 Dodgers unis you guys got today are still cool! I’m gonna wear a different one next year, but I appreciate y’all rockin’ em nonetheless!”
