BREAKING NEWS: Philadelphia Phillies Reportedly Signs $70 Million Outfielder in Blockbuster Deal…

Phillies Eye $50 Million Outfielder in Blockbuster Trade Proposal…

The Philadelphia Phillies have been actively pursuing Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. for several months, but no deal has materialized—yet.

This offseason, the White Sox are dismantling their roster, trading away key players. Chicago has already sent pitcher Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox, and Robert is expected to be the next to go.

Although the Phillies missed out on Crochet, they remain hopeful about acquiring Robert. A potential trade could send the star outfielder to Philadelphia in the coming weeks.

Proposed Trade Details:

  • Philadelphia Phillies receive: OF Luis Robert Jr.
  • Chicago White Sox receive: OF Justin Crawford (No. 3 prospect), SS Bryan Rincon (No. 10 prospect), OF Emaarion Boyd (No. 23 prospect)

This deal would give the Phillies the young outfielder they need while allowing them to retain third baseman Alec Bohm, leaving them flexibility for 2025 or a future trade involving a starting pitcher.

Robert, who still has three years of team control left on his contract—including $20 million club options for 2026 and 2027—experienced a dip in performance in 2024. However, he showcased his potential in 2023 with an impressive 38 home runs and 36 doubles.

For the White Sox, this trade would bring in three high-potential prospects to bolster their farm system. Crawford, ranked as MLB Pipeline’s 53rd-best prospect for 2025, was reportedly discussed in previous trade talks involving Crochet.

Rincon, a switch-hitting shortstop, would likely become one of Chicago’s top infield prospects despite a challenging 2024 season. At just 20 years old, his untapped potential remains a key selling point.

Boyd, while considered a riskier prospect, offers speed and game-changing potential on the base paths. He has averaged nearly a stolen base every two minor league games in his brief career.

This trade could be the move Philadelphia needs to bolster its outfield while providing Chicago with the young talent to fuel its rebuild.
