“The Phillies know they can’t go into 2025 with the same offensive approach,” Nightengale wrote. “While their lineup is one of the most explosive in baseball, postseason struggles have shown it can also be predictable for opposing pitchers. Change is necessary, and Bohm, among Nick Castellanos, Brandon Marsh, and himself, holds the highest trade value. If the Astros lose Alex Bregman to free agency, expect Phillies president Dave Dombrowski to offer Bohm in exchange for Astros reliever Ryan Pressly, who is reportedly being shopped extensively.”
For the Phillies, improving their bullpen remains a priority, making Pressly an attractive target. However, this deal hinges on the Astros losing Bregman, one of MLB’s top third basemen, who is poised to secure a lucrative contract in free agency.
