After being tied to various trade rumors over the offseason, the Chicago Bulls ultimately decided not to trade their All-Star players. Instead, they opted for a trade that sent Alex Caruso to Oklahoma City in exchange for Josh Giddey. However, rumors swirled that players like Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and others were available for the right price.
Now, fresh trade rumors have emerged surrounding Patrick Williams, despite the Bulls signing him to a five-year, $90 million deal in June. But he isn’t the only player potentially on the move.
The Bulls’ trade rumors are intensifying following a disappointing 8-13 start to the season. After finishing the 2023 season with a 39-43 record, securing the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference, the team has shown little improvement this year. Their recent loss to the Celtics placed them 11th in the East, prompting them to reconsider their strategy.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Bulls are open to discussing trades involving “the majority of the roster.”
Looking ahead, the Bulls have their own first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, but only if it lands in the top ten. Currently projected to hold the eighth pick, trading away key players could help Chicago retain their pick, rather than sending it to San Antonio due to the DeMar DeRozan trade. With several teams eyeing a potential star like Duke’s Cooper Flagg, the Bulls might look to make a series of trades to improve their odds of landing the top prospect.
