JUST IN: Atlanta Braves Signs a Sensational ‘Earlysville Pitcher’ in a Blockbuster Deal…

Right-handed pitcher Connor Gillispie has secured a one-year contract with the Atlanta Braves, which includes an $820,000 salary while playing in the major leagues and $180,000 when in the minors.

The 27-year-old, who finalized the agreement on Friday, debuted in the majors with Cleveland on August 4, recording a 2.25 ERA over three relief outings for the Guardians. He was designated for assignment on November 19 and chose free agency shortly after.

Initially drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the ninth round of the 2019 amateur draft, Gillispie posted a 5-7 record and a 4.05 ERA this year across 15 starts and 12 relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus. Cleveland had picked him up from Baltimore during last December’s Rule 5 draft at the winter meetings.
