JUST IN: Giants’ Head Coach Brian Daboll Stays Unruffled by Job Security Following Seventh Consecutive Defeat.

The New York Giants didn’t face utter humiliation in Dallas, but they still suffered their seventh consecutive defeat in a sloppy, error-prone game, losing 27-20 to the Cowboys.

Despite the team’s dismal 2-10 record, head coach Brian Daboll remained confident about his future, stating Thursday that he isn’t concerned about his job security.

“No,” Daboll responded, according to NJ.com. “I don’t like the results. Nobody likes the results. But I have confidence in the people. We’ve just got to do better.”

The Giants’ 2-10 start marks their worst beginning since 2019, when they also started 2-10 in Pat Shurmur’s second and final season. This seventh straight loss is also their longest losing streak since 2019, when they endured a nine-game skid.

On Thursday, the Giants briefly took the lead but struggled throughout the game, despite a late push with 10 points in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Drew Lock, filling in for the injured Tommy DeVito (forearm), threw for 178 yards on 21-of-35 attempts, with one interception and a fumble in the third quarter that led to a Cowboys touchdown. The Giants finished with just 247 total yards and went 3-for-12 on third downs.

In addition, the Giants committed 13 penalties for 98 yards, further compounding their woes.

Last month, Giants owner John Mara indicated that he did not foresee making changes to the team’s leadership for the 2025 season. However, as the losses continue to pile up, questions persist about whether Mara will stick with Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen or opt for a change.

With this loss, the Giants have become the first team officially eliminated from playoff contention.
