JUST IN: Detroit Red Wings Secure Dramatic Overtime Victory, Extending Mastery Over Flames.

Lucas Raymond delivered a clutch power-play goal with 1:25 left in overtime, securing a 2-1 victory for the Detroit Red Wings over the visiting Calgary Flames on Wednesday night.

Raymond capitalized from the slot after Calgary was penalized for too many men on the ice.

Alex DeBrincat contributed a goal and an assist, while Cam Talbot made 24 saves, helping Detroit extend its dominance over Calgary with a fifth consecutive win against the Flames.

Connor Zary found the back of the net for Calgary, and Dan Vladar recorded 25 saves. Despite the loss, the Flames notched their sixth power-play goal in five games.

Detroit forward Patrick Kane remained sidelined, missing his second straight game due to an upper-body injury.

The Red Wings opened scoring on a power play just 6:33 into the first period, following a tripping penalty on Calgary’s Matt Coronato. Michael Rasmussen, stationed near the goal post, set up DeBrincat with a precise pass to the left circle, where he one-timed it past Vladar. Raymond earned the secondary assist.

DeBrincat’s tally marked his ninth goal of the season and his 10th career goal against Calgary in 17 matchups.

Although the Flames were heavily penalized early in the game, including two infractions in the first 10 minutes, the Red Wings couldn’t convert on their third power play, which was cut short by their own penalty.

Late in the first period, Flames defenseman Daniil Miromanov had a breakaway opportunity, but Talbot snatched his wrist shot with a quick glove save. Vladar answered with his own brilliance in the second, making a diving stop on Rasmussen during a two-on-one rush.

The Flames’ struggles on the power play continued as they failed to register a shot during a late second-period opportunity after Ben Chiarot was called for tripping. Another power-play chance in the third, following Moritz Seider’s tripping penalty, produced two shots on goal but no breakthrough.

Calgary finally equalized with just under three minutes left in regulation after Dylan Larkin was called for a faceoff violation. Zary blasted home his fifth goal of the season from the left side, assisted by MacKenzie Weegar and Yegor Sharangovich, forcing overtime.

Raymond’s decisive goal sealed the victory, solidifying Detroit’s stronghold over Calgary and adding another chapter to their winning streak.
