Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been chosen as the team’s nominee for the 2024 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, the NFL revealed today. This award, now in its 11th year, honors NFL players who exhibit exceptional sportsmanship on the field.
Established in 2014, the award pays tribute to Art Rooney Sr., the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and a Pro Football Hall of Famer. It recognizes players who embody qualities such as fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity during competition.
A selection panel from the NFL Legends Community will narrow down the 32 nominees to eight finalists—four from the AFC and four from the NFC. These finalists will appear on the Pro Bowl ballot under the Sportsmanship Award category for players to vote on in December.
The winner, chosen by current NFL players, will be announced during the NFL Honors ceremony before the Super Bowl. Along with the recognition, the recipient will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of their choice.
