JUST IN: Lakers Star LeBron James Drops a Headline-Grabbing Bombshell on Social Media.

LeBron James is stepping away from social media earlier than usual, signaling a potential activation of his famed “Zero Dark Thirty-23 mode.”

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers star announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s taking a hiatus from online platforms. Sharing a post by sports agent Rich Kleiman, who criticized the “negative takes” from segments of the national sports media, James added his own message:

“And with that said I’ll holla at y’all! Getting off social media for the time being. Y’all take care,” he wrote.

With nearly 53 million followers on X and an impressive 159 million on Instagram, James is one of the most influential figures online. While he has taken periodic social media breaks in the past, they have typically coincided with the NBA playoffs.

As he approaches his 40th birthday next month, James continues to dominate on the court. In his 22nd NBA season, he’s averaging 23.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game, contributing to the Lakers’ strong 10-4 start, currently third in the Western Conference.
