JUST IN: Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin Delivers Candid Take on Chris Boswell’s Impact in Offense Against Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers narrowly edged out the Baltimore Ravens in an 18-16 nail-biter, capped by Lamar Jackson’s failed two-point conversion attempt in the final minute. The victory showcased clutch performances, including Chris Boswell’s six field goals, which capitalized on three Ravens turnovers and sealed the win despite offensive struggles.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin praised Boswell’s reliability while acknowledging areas for improvement. “I’m tired of him getting player of the week,” Tomlin remarked, as quoted by Brooke Pryor on X. “He’s deserving of it, but it reminds us of our warts and the work we need to do. I’m thankful he’s on our team.”

Tomlin also offered a succinct evaluation of the Steelers’ offense: “W,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of securing the win over stylistic concerns. Baltimore’s mistakes—12 penalties and costly turnovers—proved pivotal in the Steelers’ triumph.

Jackson, held to 16-of-33 passing for 207 yards, threw a touchdown to Zay Flowers late in the game to cut the deficit to two. However, a botched two-point attempt sealed Baltimore’s fate. Tomlin credited the Ravens’ formidable offense but applauded his team’s grit. “Our guys played hard and together, and I’m appreciative of that,” he said.

Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward emphasized the collective effort. “To come away with a win, it took everybody,” he told ESPN, underscoring the importance of AFC North battles.

Despite a fourth-quarter interception from Russell Wilson, he threw for 205 yards, while Najee Harris added 63 rushing yards and George Pickens tallied 89 receiving yards on eight catches. The win keeps the Steelers in the hunt as they brace for a challenging schedule ahead.
