“I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Red Wings and the incredible fans of Detroit,” Datsyuk remarked. “Detroit has always felt like a second home to me, and the love and support I’ve received here will stay with me forever. My Hall of Fame induction is a reflection of the incredible teammates, coaches, and passionate Hockeytown fans who cheered us on. I’m excited to return to Detroit and share this special moment with all of you on November 21.”

The Red Wings will face off against the Islanders at 7 p.m., with fans encouraged to arrive early for the chance to receive a commemorative coin, take photos with some of the NHL’s most prestigious trophies, and experience a special display showcasing Datsyuk’s game-used memorabilia. Fans should be seated by 6:40 p.m. to witness Datsyuk’s ceremonial puck drop.

Among the photo opportunities will be the Stanley Cup, Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, Frank J. Selke Trophy, and Datsyuk’s manhole cover on the Via concourse. A heritage display will feature Datsyuk’s rookie season helmet, a game-used stick, skates, jersey from his final Red Wings season, and more.

Datsyuk, famously known as the “Magic Man,” spent his entire 14-season NHL career with the Red Wings from 2001 to 2016. His remarkable tenure was highlighted by two Stanley Cup championships (2002, 2008) and numerous accolades, including four consecutive Lady Byng Trophies for sportsmanship and three straight Selke Trophies as the NHL’s best defensive forward. Over 953 regular-season games, he accumulated 918 points (314 goals, 604 assists) and became known as one of the most well-rounded players in the league’s history. A four-time NHL All-Star and a member of the NHL’s 100 Greatest Players, Datsyuk was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 class.
