Dodgers General Manager Discusses Teoscar Hernández’s Free Agency, Outlines Team’s Plans

As the Los Angeles Dodgers transition from their World Series triumph to offseason decisions, GM Brandon Gomes shared insights into the team’s strategy for Teoscar Hernández’s upcoming free agency.

“Teo played a pivotal role in our success this season, both on the field and in the clubhouse with his energy and influence on younger players,” said Gomes. “We’ll be engaging in talks with Teo and his team as soon as possible.”

Hernández, a fan favorite, has expressed his desire to return to the Dodgers for the 2025 season, and his strong debut year has only heightened his value. While he remains a top priority for the Dodgers, interest from other teams is growing.

Gomes’s comments reflect the Dodgers’ proactive stance in trying to re-sign the outfielder. Hernández, too, has been clear about wanting to stay in Los Angeles. “I’m very hopeful. As I’ve said before, the Dodgers are my priority, and I’ll do everything I can to come back,” Hernández remarked.

In addition to Hernández, the Dodgers face decisions on several other free agents, including Walker Buehler, Jack Flaherty, Blake Treinen, Joe Kelly, and Kiké Hernández. The team is also reportedly eyeing players like Willy Adames or Juan Soto, suggesting tough choices lie ahead.

Dodgers fans will have to wait to see which players from the 2024 roster remain for the next season.
