Halloween Horror for Bruins as Hurricanes Dominate in Raleigh…

The Carolina Hurricanes returned home to Lenovo Center on Halloween, fresh off a 5-1-0 road trip, and handed the Boston Bruins a heavy 8-2 loss. Powered by two-goal performances from Andrei Svechnikov and Jack Roslovic, plus a stellar four-point night from Martin Necas, the Hurricanes maintained their momentum and extended their win streak to five games.

Starting goalie Pyotr Kochetkov was back in net for Carolina, facing off against Boston’s Jeremy Swayman, who recently signed a contract extension. The first period opened with a goal by Roslovic, capitalizing on a delayed penalty against Boston. Although Boston tied the score when Brad Marchand found the net on a power play, Carolina quickly responded with three goals in under a minute, taking a 4-1 lead by the end of the period.

Boston narrowed the gap briefly in the second period with a goal from Hampus Lindholm. However, the Hurricanes quickly shut down any hope of a comeback as Svechnikov and Roslovic each added their second goals, sending Swayman to the bench. Carolina’s relentless offense held the lead comfortably through the third period, adding two more goals from Sean Walker and Jesperi Kotkaniemi to seal the lopsided victory.

The Hurricanes saw contributions across the lineup, with 12 skaters recording points. Necas led with four points, three on the power play, while Kochetkov managed solidly in net despite Boston’s limited 15-shot total. With a strong 7-2-0 record to start the season, Carolina looks poised for their upcoming November schedule, beginning with a division game against the Washington Capitals.
