Ahead of their upcoming game against LSU, Alabama made a significant recruiting move by securing 4-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland from Birmingham.
Ranked as one of the top DL prospects in the 2026 class, Cleveland selected Alabama over programs like Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Oregon, and Miami, thanks to strong recruitment by head coach Kalen DeBoer and defensive line coach Freddie Roach. Cleveland praised their efforts, noting he felt confident in Coach Roach’s developmental plans.
This commitment adds to an already impressive incoming roster, with Alabama’s 2025 class topping national rankings with five 5-star and fourteen 4-star recruits, according to 247 Sports. Cleveland joins 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney as Alabama’s second recruit for 2026.
After a 34-0 victory over Missouri, Alabama heads into a bye week before facing No. 16 LSU in a prime-time showdown in Baton Rouge on Nov. 9. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. EST in the energized Tiger Stadium.
