The Pittsburgh Steelers received a significant boost for their offensive line on Wednesday with the activation of offensive tackle Dylan Cook from injured reserve. Cook, who had been sidelined for the first half of the season due to a lisfranc injury in his foot, is anticipated to take on the swing tackle position.
He sustained the injury during a joint practice with the Buffalo Bills in August and played in a game two days later, but the severity of the injury led to his placement on injured reserve.
Cook’s return is especially important following Troy Fautanu’s serious knee injury, which will keep him out for the remainder of the regular season. With Broderick Jones facing challenges at right tackle, Cook provides the Steelers with additional depth in the offensive line. His presence ensures that if further injuries occur, the team will have more options than just Calvin Anderson for both tackle positions.
