The Baltimore Orioles traded for outfielder Daz Cameron from the Oakland Athletics on Thursday, giving up cash considerations in the deal.
Cameron, 27, played for the Athletics during the 2024 season after spending three years with the Detroit Tigers from 2020 to 2022. He was part of the Orioles organization in 2023, where he played the entire season with Triple-A Norfolk.
In 66 games with Oakland, Cameron had a batting average of .200, along with career highs of five home runs and 15 RBIs. Over his 139-game MLB career with Detroit and Oakland, he has a .201 batting average, with 10 home runs and 39 RBIs.
In 2024, he played in left, right, and center field, but has more MLB starts (57) in right field than in any other position. While with Norfolk in 2023, Cameron recorded a .268 average, hitting 16 home runs, driving in 67 runs, and stealing 23 bases over 110 games, making 62 starts in center field.
