The 49ers haven’t reached the record they aimed for so far this season, even though they still lead the NFC West. Currently, San Francisco stands at 3-3 after a challenging start.
The team has been improving recently as players recover from injuries, but there might be changes on the horizon.
Dianna Russini from The Athletic recently listed some potential trade targets and surprisingly mentioned 49ers’ star Deebo Samuel as a possible trade candidate.
Russini stated, “The trade deadline is 17 days away, and many in the league are watching these names: Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Bryce Young, wide receivers Diontae Johnson, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, 49ers’ wide receiver Deebo Samuel, Chicago Bears’ running back Khalil Herbert and defensive end Dom Robinson, Tennessee Titans’ wide receivers Treylon Burks and DeAndre Hopkins, and Cleveland Browns’ defensive end Za’Darius Smith.”
Samuel has previously been involved in trade rumors, but he remained with the team. He still has one year left on his three-year, $71.5 million contract. If the 49ers don’t see him as part of their long-term plans, trading him could be a logical move. However, such a decision would significantly impact the team’s offensive strength.
