Just days after suffering a tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football, the New York Giants have received disappointing injury news.
Offensive lineman Andrew Thomas will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a Lisfranc injury, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning.
The 25-year-old has participated in every game for the Giants this season.
A Lisfranc injury involves the displacement of a metatarsal bone from the tarsus in the foot. This type of injury gained notoriety in 2022 when Chet Holmgren, a center for the Oklahoma City Thunder, sustained one during a pro-am game.
After the Giants’ 17–7 defeat, Thomas, who initially attempted to play through the injury, admitted he felt “not great.”
The Georgia alum was recognized as an All-Pro by both the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus in 2022 and signed a $117 million contract extension in July 2023.
