NC State football may receive a significant boost in its 2025 recruiting class by early November, as Monroe High School (N.C.) safety Jordan Young is set to make his decision.
Young, who has narrowed his choices to four schools—NC State, Clemson, Florida State, and Michigan—visited NC State officially in June and unofficially in July.
Ranked as the No. 101 overall prospect and the fourth-best in North Carolina for the class of 2025, the 6-foot, 180-pound four-star recruit recently announced that he will make his commitment on November 2, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Experts at 247Sports predict that NC State has the upper hand over Clemson, with all recent projections favoring the Wolfpack.
Andrew Ivins, 247Sports’ scouting director, praised Young as a dynamic player with experience on both offense and defense but believes he will excel as a safety in college. Ivins highlighted Young’s awareness, range, and ball skills, noting his potential to be a multi-year starter at the Power Four level.
If Young chooses NC State, he would become the top-ranked recruit in their 2025 class. Currently, the Wolfpack’s recruiting class includes 17 commitments, with only two four-star players, and is ranked No. 55 nationally and No. 14 in the ACC.
