Breaking News: Baltimore Ravens’ Key Playmaker Allegedly Available for Trade, Potentially Joining Chargers or Saints

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has not been performing at his typical level, leading some to speculate that the team might consider trading him. Once regarded as one of the top dual-threat tight ends in the league, Andrews has struggled in the early part of the 2024 season, contributing only six receptions for 65 yards over three games. After a breakout season in 2019 and three Pro Bowl selections, his position on the depth chart is now in jeopardy due to the emergence of Isaiah Likely, a former fourth-round pick.

At 29 years old, Andrews seems to be moving away from being the primary tight end, prompting writer Destin Adams of AtoZ Sports to suggest that the Ravens may trade him and look to Likely as their future TE1. If such a trade occurs, the Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints could be potential suitors.

As the 2024 season unfolds, it has become clear that quarterbacks thrive in favorable environments. Players like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield have found success after struggling with their previous teams. The Chargers, with star quarterback Justin Herbert, could greatly enhance their offense by acquiring Andrews, especially after losing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Although the Chargers have young receivers like Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey, they would benefit from the experience Andrews brings, particularly as Herbert recovers from an injury.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints, who started the season strong, might also consider trading for Andrews to bolster their offense. Head coach Dennis Allen is under pressure to lead the team on a playoff run, and while quarterback Derek Carr seems comfortable with new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, an additional weapon could elevate their performance. Taysom Hill is currently injured, and Juwan Johnson has only two receptions this season. Although Andrews would be the top tight end, he wouldn’t necessarily be the primary target, as Chris Olave and running back Alvin Kamara are likely to draw more defensive attention, allowing Andrews to thrive without facing constant double coverage.
