Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Pitcher Secures Triple Crown Honors; Poised for MLB Promotion in Late 2024 Season
The Milwaukee Brewers are known for finding and developing great pitchers. Recently, one of their Minor League pitchers, Chad Patrick, won the triple crown, meaning he had the best stats in the league.
Last November, the Brewers traded Abraham Toro to the Oakland Athletics for Chad Patrick. In the 2024 season, Patrick played in Triple-A and led the International League with 14 wins, a 2.90 ERA, and 145 strikeouts. He also pitched for over 136 innings and had impressive strikeout and WHIP rates.
The Brewers now have an open spot on their 40-man roster because they recently let go of reliever Enoli Paredes, who was picked up by the Chicago Cubs. This gives them the chance to add Chad Patrick to the roster.
Chad Patrick was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2021, and if the Brewers don’t add him to the 40-man roster by a November deadline, he could be taken by another team in December. Adding him now would protect him and give him a chance to make his Major League debut this season, especially to keep the top pitchers fresh before the playoffs, and also to be part of the team’s plans for 2025.
