Minnesota Timberwolves Add Two Top Veterans To Their Team Ahead of NBA Training Camp…
The Minnesota Timberwolves have added two veteran players to their roster just before NBA training camp. Last week, they signed guard Chasson Randle to an Exhibit 10 contract, a non-guaranteed one-year deal that includes a training camp invite and a chance to earn a spot on the final team. According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, the Timberwolves are now bringing in guard Skylar Mays and forward Eugene Omoruyi. While the terms of their contracts haven’t been confirmed, it’s expected they will also be Exhibit 10 deals like Randle’s.
Skylar Mays, 27, has played four seasons in the NBA with teams including the Atlanta Hawks, Portland Trail Blazers, and most recently, the Los Angeles Lakers. Last season, Mays appeared in 17 games for the Lakers and 21 games for the Trail Blazers, averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 rebounds over 105 career games. The 6-foot-4 combo guard was a second-round pick from LSU in the 2020 NBA Draft. Eugene Omoruyi, also 27, has played three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and Washington Wizards. Last season with Washington, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.6 steals per game in 43 games, the most he’s played in a single season. In 2023-24, he averaged 9.1 minutes per game.
With these two additions, Minnesota’s roster is now at 20 players, just one short of the training camp maximum.
