Vancouver Canucks Sign Top Sensational Goaltender to Professional Tryout…
The Vancouver Canucks have signed 25-year-old goaltender Dylan Ferguson to a professional tryout. Ferguson spent the 2023-24 season with Minsk Dynamo in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), where he recorded a 9-9-0 record, a .904 save percentage, and a 2.51 goals-against average in 23 games.
Originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in the seventh round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Ferguson played four seasons with the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League (WHL), achieving a 61-72-11 record, a .908 save percentage, and a 3.04 GAA. Shortly after being drafted, he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights as part of a deal for defenseman Marc Methot. Ferguson made a brief emergency appearance for Vegas in the 2017-18 season, allowing one goal in nine minutes of relief.
From 2019 to 2023, Ferguson split time between the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL, without securing a regular spot on a single team. His standout performance came in 2020-21 with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets, where he went 7-3-1 during the regular season and helped the team win the Kelly Cup with a strong playoff run.
In 2022-23, Ferguson played 13 AHL games with the Belleville Senators and Toronto Marlies, recording an 8-3-0 record. He also made two starts for the Ottawa Senators, finishing 1-1-0 with a .940 save percentage and a 2.52 GAA.
Meanwhile, the Canucks finished the 2023-24 season with a 50-23-9 record, winning the Pacific Division but falling to the Edmonton Oilers in seven games during the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
