Simone Biles’ Excitement Over Husband’s Key Play for the Bears…
Simone Biles is known for handling pressure with ease, but on Sunday, she found herself just like any other anxious Chicago Bears fan.
During the Bears’ Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans at Soldier Field, the team started off poorly, trailing 17-0 early on and down 17-3 by halftime. However, Chicago’s defense came alive in the second half.
After forcing the Titans to punt on their first third-quarter drive, the Bears’ defense made an even bigger impact. Linebacker Daniel Hardy blocked the punt, and Biles’ husband, Jonathan Owens, a 5’11” safety, recovered the ball and ran it in for the Bears’ first touchdown, narrowing the score to 17-10.
Biles didn’t hide her excitement when asked how she felt about Owens’ big play. She replied on X (formerly Twitter), “I ALMOST HAD A HEART ATTACK,” clearly thrilled by the moment.
Chicago’s defense went on to shut out the Titans in the second half, even scoring another touchdown via a pick-six. This strong defensive performance led the Bears to a thrilling 24-17 comeback victory.
The Bears’ defense was crucial, contributing 15 points, which made up for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams’ tough NFL debut. The USC standout completed 14 of 29 passes for 93 yards and added 15 rushing yards on five attempts.
