Top Dallas Stars by Jersey Numbers: 91 Through 99
This is the final segment of our series highlighting the top Dallas Stars players by their jersey numbers. Throughout the series, we’ve covered many of the franchise’s key players, and this final installment focuses on those who wore numbers in the 90s. Let’s dive into the best Dallas Stars to don these numbers.
#91 – Tyler Seguin (Forward)
The Dallas Stars have had two players wear the number 91: Brad Richards and Tyler Seguin. While Richards had a stellar career, Seguin takes the spotlight. Acquired in a trade on July 4, 2013, Seguin has made a significant impact on the franchise. Over his 11 seasons in Dallas, Seguin has steadily climbed the team’s all-time rankings in games played, goals, assists, and points. At 32, he remains among the franchise’s top ten in these categories. Seguin has also consistently ranked in the NHL’s top ten for goals and points in multiple seasons and led the league in hat tricks during the 2013-14 season. With five more All-Star appearances than Richards, Seguin’s career is far from over.
#92 – Vladislav Namestnikov (Forward)
Namestnikov is the only player in Stars history to wear the number 92. He was traded to Dallas from Detroit during the 2021-22 season for a fourth-round draft pick. Although he played just 15 games with the Stars before returning to the Tampa Bay Lightning and later joining the Winnipeg Jets, Namestnikov has had a respectable career. At 31, he has accumulated 298 points in 708 games and led the NHL in short-handed goals during the 2019-20 season.

#95 – Matt Duchene (Forward)
Matt Duchene joined the Stars last summer and quickly established himself as a valuable veteran presence on and off the ice. His role on the second line helped create a balanced lineup of experienced players and emerging talent. Duchene’s first season in Dallas saw him score 25 goals and tally 65 points, earning him another one-year contract. The two-time All-Star is the first and only player to wear the number 95 for the Stars.
#96 – Fabian Brunnstrom (Forward)
Brunnstrom, a Swedish free agent, signed with the Stars in 2008 and spent two of his three NHL seasons in Dallas. He had a promising rookie season, scoring 17 goals and 29 points. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury early in his second season derailed his career, and he never fully recovered. Brunnstrom played his final NHL season with Detroit in 2011-12, appearing in just five games before returning to Sweden. His career remains a case of “What Could Have Been” due to injuries.
#97 – Never Worn
#98 – Brian Lawton (Forward)
Brian Lawton briefly wore the number 98 for the Minnesota North Stars in 1984 and 1985 before switching numbers. During his five years with the team, he recorded 162 points (71 goals and 91 assists) in 303 games. Lawton went on to play nine seasons in the NHL, suiting up for teams like the San Jose Sharks, Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, and Quebec Nordiques. He finished his career with 266 points in 483 games.
