247Sports analysts Christian Clemente and Tom Loy have both predicted that Elijah Melendez will commit to Auburn, each giving their crystal ball predictions with a confidence level of six.
Melendez is ranked as the No. 4 linebacker in the nation and the No. 92 overall prospect according to Rivals.
In addition to Auburn and Miami, Melendez has offers from several major programs, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
Another prediction for Melendez to choose Auburn was made by Steve Wiltfong from On3. It’s possible that Melendez could announce his decision before the weekend is over.
Melendez is a student at Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida, about 3.5 hours north of Miami, where he was previously committed. The drive from Kissimmee to Auburn is just under seven hours. Interestingly, Melendez chose to attend Auburn’s game against Alabama A&M over the Gators vs. Hurricanes game in Gainesville on Saturday.
Former Miami Hurricanes linebacker commit Elijah Melendez is now trending towards the Auburn Tigers.
As one of the top linebackers in the 2025 class, Melendez could be Auburn’s next commitment.
Even with their season opener against Alabama A&M happening today at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Auburn Tigers continue to push hard on the recruiting trail.
Auburn’s visitor list for the first week includes some of the nation’s top talent, and head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff are eager to make the most of it.
Among the key flip targets in attendance are Na’eem Offord, an elite cornerback from Birmingham and the No. 6 player nationally, and Deuce Knight, the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 class.
Auburn is also making a strong effort to secure Elijah Melendez, a 4-star linebacker who recently decommitted from Miami and is visiting Auburn this weekend.
