This extension follows a four-year, $215 million deal Curry signed three years ago, marking his second contract exceeding $200 million. Curry’s illustrious career includes four NBA championships, two MVP awards, and numerous records in both team and league history.
ESPN reports that Curry is now guaranteed $178 million over the next three years of his Warriors contract, with the extension expected to be finalized today.
Significance: The extension secures Curry approximately $178 million over the next three seasons. By the conclusion of the 2026-27 season, Curry’s career earnings from player contracts will total around $532 million, making him the second-highest earner in NBA history, following LeBron James’ $580 million.
Curry’s consistent excellence is evident. He contributed to Team USA’s gold medal victory at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 45% overall and 40.8% from three-point range.
He led the league in clutch scoring and was honored with the 2023-24 Kia NBA Clutch Player of the Year award.
The 2023-24 season marked Curry’s 15th with the Warriors, earning him his 10th All-Star appearance. He holds the NBA record for the most 3-pointers made and attempted and was named Finals MVP in 2022 after leading Golden State to their latest championship.
