NC State recently bolstered its 2025 recruiting class by securing commitments from two players who had initially pledged to other schools.
The first of these is Kage Payne, an offensive lineman who swiftly accepted an offer from the Wolfpack and decommitted from Troy.
Payne, a three-star interior lineman from Ohio, originally committed to Troy on August 2 but switched to NC State just 11 days later. Besides NC State, Syracuse is the only other Power Five program to have offered him.
The second addition is defensive back Gerritt Kemp, who flipped his commitment from Duke to NC State a few days ago. Kemp had initially committed to Duke in June but visited NC State shortly after. He has also made visits to Ole Miss and Michigan State.
The 6’3″, 185-pound athlete had an impressive season last fall, accumulating 514 receiving yards on just 16 catches.
With these two additions, NC State’s 2025 class now includes 18 commitments.
