The Denver Broncos are reportedly considering trading wide receiver Tim Patrick and running back Samaje Perine as they prepare for the 2024 NFL season.
As the Broncos gear up for the new season, they’ve made substantial changes to their roster and are now exploring trade options for some of their offensive players. Recent reports indicate that the team is open to dealing Patrick and Perine.
According to sources, Denver has significant depth at the wide receiver position, prompting the team to consider moving on from Tim Patrick.
Reports suggest that Patrick, who has spent four seasons with the Broncos and posted 742 yards with six touchdowns in 2020 and 734 yards with five touchdowns in 2021, is attracting considerable interest on the trade market.
Similarly, Denver is exploring the possibility of trading Samaje Perine. If a trade doesn’t materialize, the team is likely to release him. Perine recorded 238 yards and one touchdown over 17 games in the 2023 season.
The Broncos are actively refining their roster ahead of an exciting 2024 season. Last season, the team finished with an 8-9 record, led by former quarterback Russell Wilson. After parting ways with Wilson in the offseason, the Broncos are eager to start anew.
Broncos Usher in New Era with Bo Nix and Zach Wilson
In an effort to fill the gap left by Russell Wilson, the Broncos traded for former New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and drafted Bo Nix, a former Oregon standout, in 2024.
While Zach Wilson faced criticism for his performance in the 2023 season, he has impressed during the 2024 preseason, throwing for 397 yards and three touchdowns over three games. Football Digest on X (formerly Twitter) praised Wilson’s improved play, noting his enhanced pocket presence, patience, and accuracy.
Despite Wilson’s strong preseason performance, rookie Bo Nix has secured the starting quarterback position. Nix, who excelled with the Oregon Ducks, has continued to impress in the NFL preseason, accumulating 205 yards and two touchdowns.
As the Broncos head into the regular season, their offensive leadership looks promising. If their wide receivers can build strong chemistry with Nix and Wilson, Denver could see significant progress.
