The NBA has released its 2024-25 schedule, and Spurs fans can now delve into the details of their team’s upcoming season.
San Antonio will begin their campaign with an away game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Western Conference champions, on October 24th.
This marks the first of the Spurs’ 21 nationally televised games this season, an increase from last year’s 19. Last season, San Antonio’s opener against the Mavericks was featured on ESPN.
The Spurs will have a Texas-focused start to the season, with a two-game home series against the Houston Rockets following their game in Dallas. Of the four games the Spurs will play against Houston, three will occur within the first eight games of the season.
San Antonio will also have some noteworthy “neutral site” games. Victor Wembanyama will lead the Spurs in two games against the Indiana Pacers in Paris, France, on January 23rd and 25th.
Additionally, the team will play in Austin for the third consecutive season, facing the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons on February 20th and 21st. Kevin Durant’s visit to UT with the Suns is expected to be a highlight.
The Spurs’ annual rodeo road trip will be somewhat shorter this year. Starting February 3rd, San Antonio will embark on a 12-game trip that includes six away games, two games in Austin at the Moody Center, and four more road games.
A key period to monitor will be the last ten games of the season. For the Spurs to secure a spot in the Play-In Tournament or Playoffs, a strong finish will be crucial, as they face challenging opponents like the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets, and Golden State Warriors in seven of those final ten games.
