Walsall has encountered a double setback in their search for strikers, as recent loan agreements for two centre-forwards have fallen through.
Mat Sadler has disclosed that the parent clubs of the targeted players have altered their positions on the deals.
With the new season just under 48 hours away, Walsall only has Josh Gordon and Jamille Matt available as fit centre-forwards.
Sadler acknowledges that enhancing the attack has been challenging this summer.
He commented, “It’s been tough. Unfortunately, we had a couple of loan deals in place that were later rescinded because the parent clubs needed to reassess their stance.”
