Malik Benson poised for breakout season at Florida State
Florida State’s wide receiver corps underwent a significant overhaul this offseason with the departure of key players to the NFL. The Seminoles addressed this by bringing in transfers Malik Benson from Alabama and Jalen Brown from LSU.
Coach Ron Dugans has high hopes for Benson, who he believes is embracing the role of the team’s top receiver. Despite a relatively quiet season at Alabama, Benson has consistently impressed during Florida State’s spring, summer, and fall training camps.
With a strong running game and the talented quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, the Seminoles are expected to create opportunities for deep passes.
Benson’s speed and ability to stretch the field make him a potential breakout star. While lofty expectations are tempered by his limited previous production, he is positioned to make a substantial impact on the Florida State offense this season.
