GOOD NEWS: Guardians Receives Major Squad Boost to Double-A Amid Promotion to Double-A…

Guardians Reinstate Star Prospect, Chase DeLauter, Back to Double-A

Chase DeLauter, the promising outfield prospect for the Cleveland Guardians, made a notable impression during the team’s spring training.

Despite his unusual but highly effective swing, DeLauter struggled at the start of his season with Double-A Akron, posting a .194/.301/.290 line in his first 17 games.

Unfortunately, injuries—including a fractured foot and turf toe—sidelined him for much of the Guardians’ minor league season.

Now fully recovered, DeLauter played a few rehab games in the Arizona Complex League and has returned to Double-A to continue his progress.

GuardsInsider tweeted, “For Today — Reinstate Chase DeLauter from the 7-day IL in AKR. Transfer W Torres from DSL Mendoza to DSL Goryl; Transfer S Utariz from DSL Goryl to DSL Mendoza.”

Despite this season’s poor stats and injury setbacks, DeLauter remains a top prospect expected to contribute to the major league team by next year.

The Guardians are keen to see DeLauter’s performance now that he is healthy and receiving regular at-bats. They will focus on his development in the high minors, aiming to make him a reliable everyday player for Cleveland.

Although injuries have delayed his promotion to Triple-A, a strong finish to the year could still leave the Guardians satisfied with his progress.
