Top-Ranked QB to Visit NC State Football Before Decision Day
NC State football is in the running for five-star 2026 quarterback Faizon Brandon, who recently named the Wolfpack among his top four choices. Alongside NC State, Brandon’s finalists include SEC heavyweights Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee.
Brandon, a standout at Grimsley High School (N.C.), will announce his college decision on August 3rd. Before making his choice, he plans to visit NC State one last time, as reported by On3’s Ethan McDowell.
Brandon has already visited all four of his final contenders in June. As a sophomore, he impressed with 3,026 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and additional rushing stats of 528 yards and nine scores. He is ranked No. 1 overall in the 2026 class by 247Sports and No. 11 by On3, where he still holds the top spot among quarterbacks.

Currently, Tennessee is considered the favorite, according to predictions from 247Sports Crystal Ball and On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. However, NC State remains hopeful, especially with Brandon’s upcoming visit.
Landing Faizon Brandon would mark a significant start for NC State’s 2026 recruiting class.
