Guardians Select NC State Catcher Jacob Cozart in Second Round of MLB Draft
The Cleveland Guardians have chosen Jacob Cozart, a standout catcher from North Carolina State, with their second-round pick in the MLB Draft, held Sunday night in Fort Worth, Texas.
Cozart, a 21-year-old left-handed hitter, had an impressive season with the NC State Wolfpack. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 222 pounds, Cozart showcased his power and consistency at the plate. He posted a .305 batting average, going 68-for-223. His offensive prowess was further highlighted by his 19 home runs and 54 RBIs, making him one of the top hitters in the college circuit this season.
