BREAKING NEWS: Milwaukee Bucks Reunites With Two Former Players in a Blockbuster Swap Deal…

Proposed Trade Reunites Milwaukee Bucks with Two Former Players

In pursuit of another championship, the Milwaukee Bucks are considering bringing back some familiar faces. Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig, both currently with the Chicago Bulls, are on their radar.

Dan Favale from Bleacher Report suggested a trade that would reunite these players with the Bucks. His proposal, featured in a July 12 article, involves the following exchange:

– Bucks receive: Jevon Carter, Torrey Craig
– Bulls receive: Pat Connaughton

Favale detailed why Carter would be a good fit for the Bucks despite his recent struggles.

“Carter had a tough shooting season, but Chicago’s lineup didn’t support him well. The Bucks could set him up for better shots, and he’s familiar with the team’s core. He also adds another strong defender alongside Delon Wright,” Favale explained.

Favale also highlighted Craig’s potential benefits for the Bucks.

“He’s been shooting over 39% from three-point range in the past two years and provides a solid option against bigger forwards. Craig is also an effective offensive rebounder.”

Both players have previous experience with the Bucks, which could be advantageous.

Bucks Could Benefit from Bulls’ Rebuilding Phase

With limited options due to their position near the NBA’s second tax apron, the Bucks need to be strategic in their improvements. They’ve already brought in Delon Wright and Taurean Prince, and adding Carter and Craig could further strengthen their roster.

The Bulls, on the other hand, are in a rebuilding phase. They’ve traded Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey, and DeMar DeRozan to the Sacramento Kings for Chris Duarte and cash. They are also attempting to trade Zach LaVine and possibly Nikola Vucevic.

The Bucks could take advantage of the Bulls’ restructuring by acquiring Carter and Craig, addressing their depth issues from the 2023-24 season. These players would be valuable additions on affordable contracts.

Carter’s & Craig’s Previous Stints in Milwaukee

Carter and Craig previously played for the Bucks at different times. Craig joined the team for the 2020-21 season but was traded to the Phoenix Suns after 18 games. Ironically, he played a significant role in the Suns’ playoff run, which ended with a loss to the Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals.

Carter was signed by the Bucks in 2022 and quickly proved his worth. In his full season with Milwaukee, he averaged eight points per game and shot 42.1% from three-point range.

If the Bucks reacquire them, the main difference will be the head coach. Previously, Mike Budenholzer led the team, but now Doc Rivers is at the helm.
