The Detroit Red Wings have signed free agent forward Vladimir Tarasenko to a two-year, $9.5 million deal. The 32-year-old forward is fresh off a Stanley Cup win with the Florida Panthers, having previously won the Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019.

During the last season, Tarasenko played 76 games with the Ottawa Senators and Panthers, scoring 23 goals and 32 assists. In 19 games with Florida, he tallied 14 points (six goals, eight assists).

A four-time All-Star, Tarasenko contributed five goals and four assists in 24 playoff games, helping Florida triumph over the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. Over his career, he has accumulated 293 goals and 336 assists in 751 games with the Blues (2012-23), New York Rangers (2023), Senators, and Panthers. St. Louis drafted him 16th overall in 2010.

In addition, the Red Wings traded forward Robby Fabbri and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2025 to the Anaheim Ducks for goaltender Gage Alexander. Fabbri, 28, is in the last year of a three-year, $12 million contract and scored 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 68 games for Detroit last season. Alexander, 22, was drafted by Anaheim in the fifth round in 2021 and has yet to play in the NHL.
