Matthew Poitras Highlights Bruins’ 2024 Development Camp Roster
Matt Poitras is set to join Boston’s emerging talents at this week’s Development Camp. The Bruins revealed their 35-player roster for the 2024 Development Camp, which will be held at Warrior Ice Arena.
In a notable decision, Matthew Poitras will participate in this camp, running from July 1 to July 4. Typically, Development Camp is for recent draft picks and prospects still a few years away from the NHL. However, Poitras, who played with the Bruins during the 2023-24 season, is an exception.
At 19, Poitras earned a spot on Boston’s roster after an impressive training camp and preseason, scoring five goals and 15 points in 35 games during his rookie season. His season was cut short by shoulder surgery in February, with a five-month recovery timeline.
It’s unclear if Poitras will be fully cleared for drills and scrimmages this week. Nevertheless, with a significant season ahead, he aims to lay the groundwork for the 2024-25 campaign alongside Boston’s upcoming talent.
In addition to Poitras, the Bruins will introduce their 2024 NHL Draft picks at the camp, led by 6-foot-7 center Dean Letourneau.
