Gabe McGlothan has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Denver Nuggets, marking a significant step in his basketball career after leaving Grand Canyon University (GCU) in a better place. McGlothan, a standout power forward, will join the Nuggets’ Summer League team, preparing for games in July.
McGlothan expressed excitement about achieving his childhood dream and thanked everyone who supported his journey, from high school to GCU. At GCU, he redshirted his first season and played four seasons under head coach Bryce Drew, achieving a cumulative 94-32 record and three NCAA tournament trips. His final season saw him average 12.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, contributing to GCU’s first NCAA Division I tournament win.
McGlothan’s impressive performance earned him workouts with seven NBA teams, with the decisive workout in Denver. He praised the Nuggets’ culture and expressed eagerness to contribute to the team. He also acknowledged GCU for providing a supportive environment that helped him grow.
In addition to his basketball achievements, McGlothan received the NIL Summit Athlete Advocate of the Year award for his impactful work with nonprofit causes. Coach Drew expressed pride in McGlothan’s accomplishments and anticipated more great things for him.
McGlothan also highlighted his family’s unwavering support and his deep faith, which guided him throughout his journey.
