The Milwaukee Bucks might be parting ways with more members of their 2021 championship team. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, NBA executives believe that Bobby Portis and Pat Connaughton are on the trading block if the Bucks can secure a win-now upgrade.
Both players are essentially in contract years, as they have player options for the 2025-26 season.
Portis, 29, and Connaughton, 31, were key bench players during Milwaukee’s 2021 NBA title run. Portis, in particular, has maintained high value, averaging 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game last season and being a finalist for Sixth Man of the Year for the second consecutive season.
However, after a disappointing first-round exit in the inaugural season of the Damian Lillard-Giannis Antetokounmpo partnership—largely due to injuries to both stars—the Bucks need to reassess. They aim to get younger if possible, as indicated by another trade candidate recently mentioned.
